What is Ladyfest you ask?

Ladyfest is a community based, not-for-profit global music and arts festival for women identified, trans, gender queer and gender nonconforming artists. 11:30amOn the Rag: DIY Menstrual Care with hosts Marwin and Caroline Margolies.
“Do you hate spending so much money on tampons and pads every month?  Want to find cheaper alternatives that are also better for your health?  Come to our workshop to learn a little bit about the history behind disposable menstrual care products, and how you can make your own.  We will provide patterns, materials, and resources for you to learn to make your own pads!  We also have some items to raffle off!”
1:00pm –  Feminism and the health disparities created by a patriarchal maternity care system with host Cara Del Favero
The United States is the leader in the use of technology in childbirth, yet we also have some of the highest death rates of birthing women and babies in the developed world! Come and learn about the history of birth, why the advent of patriarchal obstetrics has increased mortality rates, why this is an issue all women need to know about and what YOU can do to help! We will also touch on the issue of breastfeeding in public and why it’s a feminist issue.
